C.E.A. (Construction Employers’ Association)

The Construction Employers’ Association is the premier association in Northern California representing union commercial building contractors in collective bargaining, labor relations and legislative advocacy. It is the only organization whose sole purpose is to protect and promote the interests of the unionized commercial building construction industry in Northern California.

The C.E.A. has represented Dolan Concrete Construction in its negotiations with the appropriate union trades in Northern California since May, 1996. Currently, Dolan Concrete Construction is one of the few concrete sub-contractors that is a member of the C.E.A. The C.E.A. continues to provide Dolan Concrete Construction a wealth of information from networking opportunities with industry leaders to building industry safety forums. The C.E.A. provides timely labor relations bulletins, as well, that enhance our effectiveness as an employer.

A.G.C. (Associated General Contractors of America)

The Associated General Contractors of America, the voice of the construction industry, is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry related companies dedicated to skill, integrity, and responsibility. Operating in partnership with its Chapters, the association provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.

Dolan Concrete is proud to be a member of the A.G.C. of California. Its membership dates back to April, 1981. Currently, the health and medical benefits for non-union employees at Dolan Concrete Construction are obtained thru plans offered thru the A.G.C. Employers Health Trust Fund. The A.G.C. offers advice in all areas of the construction process, from labor construction law to safety issues.

A.S.C.C. (American Society of Concrete Contractors)

The American Society of Concrete Contractors was formed by and for concrete contractors and others who provide services and goods to the industry. It is a powerful organization of contractors who share the same goals – to improve their businesses and their roles as contractors. Members include contracting firms, manufacturers, suppliers, architects, specifiers and distributors. There are over 400 member companies in the U.S. and abroad.

Membership in the A.S.C.C. has benefited Dolan Concrete Construction in many ways since September, 1987. Position Statements provided by this organization help Dolan Concrete to conquer many day-to-day technical issues that arise, from quality control to customer satisfaction. Newsletters provided by this organization help to keep Dolan Concrete Construction up to date, as well, on issues that concern our industry as a whole.

• Northern California Cement Masons

  • Northern California Cement Masons JATC Apprenticeship Program:

    The Northern California Cement Masons JATC Apprenticeship Program is a three-year program consisting of 4,200 on-the-job hours and 432 related training hours. Starting hourly wage is 45% of journeylevel wage rate. This program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Cement Mason. Training consists of finishing sidewalks, curb and gutter, floor slabs, architectural concrete, as well as patching and repair of concrete.

    Each year Dolan Concrete Construction offers its support to this integral apprenticeship program by participating in a contest designed to highlight individual skills in the finishing, patching and repair of concrete. Leo A. Gutierrez, President and C.E.O. of Dolan Concrete Construction, is honored to participate in the coordination and judging of this contest.

    Here at Dolan Concrete Construction, we realize the importance of developing the skills of young cement masons to perpetuate the flow of skilled labor into the profession, and we are dedicated to participation in this program.
